In 2020, another classic Nike Dunk colorway from the 1985 "Be True To Your School" collection made a comeback - the Nike Dunk High Varsity Maize. This iteration pays homage to the University of Iowa, one of Nike's earliest university partners. Dubbed the "Golden Rod," the Nike Dunk High Iowa has served as inspiration for several iconic Dunks, including the 2005 Nike SB Dunk High Golden Rod and the Wu-Tang Dunk High.
The Nike Dunk High Varsity Maize returns in its original glory, featuring a black and yellow leather upper with the signature Dunk color blocking. Completing the look is a woven black and yellow Nike Swoosh tongue tag, a white midsole, and a Varsity Maize outsole, making this re-issue a faithful reproduction of the beloved classic.
